# Marketplace (Buyers)

Fairmarkit offers an open marketplace where all Fairmarkit registered suppliers can be notified of opportunities to participate in an event. When you send an event to the marketplace, all suppliers registered with Fairmarkit, even ones not invited to the event, are welcome to submit a response to the event. This option is great for you as a buyer since it opens the bidding process up to many additional suppliers beyond those directly invited to your event.

{% hint style="info" %} **Note:** Marketplace postings and direct invitations are available from separate locations, so suppliers will still have a clear view of events sent directly to them.
{% endhint %}

### Benefits

The marketplace facilitates competitive bidding from Fairmarkit registered suppliers. It allows you to:

* Create relationships with new suppliers
* Open your organization up to more cost savings

### Post to the Marketplace

To send an event to the Marketplace, select the Fairmarkit option before sending your event. All quotes received from the marketplace will come back labeled for easy viewing and identification.

{% hint style="info" %} **Note**: If you want this option selected by default, you can adjust your preference in [Company preferences](/buyers/administration/company-settings/edit-company-preferences.md). However, some events may not be suitable for the marketplace, so verify this check box before sending an event.
