# Reopen line items

If you have partially awarded a request for quote event, you can reopen the event and resend any line items that have not been awarded to buyers for responses. This allows you to extend the event dates and receive responses for the remaining line items. Remaining line items on an event can only be reopened once. Any awarded line items will not be impacted.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
From the events list or the event Details screen, select **Actions > Reopen un-awarded items** for a request for quote event.\
A window displays.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Edit the date fields as needed.

* **Close Date**: Enter the date that the event will close. At this date, suppliers will no longer be able to submit responses to the event. This date is used with the Close Time.
* **Close Time**: Enter the time that the event will close. At this date, suppliers will no longer be able to submit responses to the event. This time is used with the Close Date.
* **Preferred Delivery Date**: Enter the date when the line items are needed. This date helps when defining shipping timelines and scheduling services.
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
Click **Reopen**, and then from the drop-down list select if you want to *Reopen and notify* (suppliers) or *Reopen without notification.*\
The event is moved to Opened status, and if selected, a notification is sent to invited suppliers.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.fairmarkit.com/buyers/request-for-quote-rfq/review-and-award-a-request-for-quote-event/reopen-line-items.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
